Angeles National Forest & San Gabriel Mountains National Monument
The submission period for the 2017 Artist in Residence program has closed for 2017. The Angeles National Forest, which also encompasses the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument, offers participants one to two weeks of lodging, depending on availability and the proposal submitted.
Artists and teachers selected for the program will have the opportunity to work on their creative project proposals in a forest setting, high above the heat of the city. Working under a Forest Service Volunteer Agreement, artists host an educational program during their stay (i.e. campfire talk, open house, nature walk, etc), donate a work to the Angeles National Forest, and participate in an annual Group Show the spring after their residency. Applications are rated on merit by representatives from the professional arts community. Free safety orientation is required for participation. |
